MAY SHOW CAST
All students enrolled in dance and musical theatre classes at APAC are featured in our annual year-end production held at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 North 6th Street.  

MAY SHOW COSTUMES
April-early May every musical theatre and dance student receives their costume(s) and detailed info about hair, make-up, shoes, tights, name of the piece, instructor contact, etc. Please take care of your investment by waiting until Convention Center rehearsals to wear those costumes. Please label all costume pieces and shoes with students name.
COSTUMES ARE WORN AT ALL CONVENTION CENTER REHEARSALS!

May Show 2024 is a bit different than the past few years. For those that have been with us for a while this May Show schedule looks similar to the way we use to do it! (before COVID) Thursday, May 16th we will have tech rehearsal of Act One and Act Two at the Convention Center. May 17th is Dress Rehearsal and May 18th at 2:30pm is the show. THURSDAY TECHNICAL REHEARSAL
DETAILS FOR APAC FAMILIES & PERFORMING STUDENTS
The entrance for May Show performers is through the backstage door of the Convention Center located on the north side of the building, closest to Pine Street. (You will see my yellow car parked in the driveway). Technical Rehearsal (Thursday) is set so that each musical theatre and dance class has time to rehearse their pieces in costume on stage. Upon arrival students check in backstage at the check-in table to find their assigned dressing area. I will be at that table to answer questions and give directions if needed. Each age group has their own assigned dressing area. Students are to arrive (with costumes and dance shoes) and check in 15 minutes prior to their first rehearsal time (see schedule by clicking button ABOVE) allowing time to dress in the costume for that piece. Students change out of costumes following each piece they rehearse and can leave once all pieces they have listed on the schedule for that day have rehearsed. Do not leave costumes or dance shoes at the Convention Center. Take everything home each time so that nothing is misplaced or lost. Be sure student name is written on EVERYTHING!


FRIDAY DRESS REHEARSAL

Students arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the dress rehearsal start time. (see schedule by clicking button ABOVE). Upon arrival students check in again at the same check-in table. Parents that plan to help in the dressing areas please text me at 325-721-4884 and let me know. You are WONDERFUL! Assisting your performer and others is fantastic and encouraged! Especially our younger students. Students may leave dress rehearsal once they have gone through all of their dress rehearsal pieces. Students are
not required to stay for the the entire dress rehearsal. This is only for dress rehearsal. On show day STUDENTS STAY THE ENTIRE SHOW for the company bows at the end and the company photo.

FOR FAMILIES & PERFORMING STUDENTS
On the day of the show all arrive no later than 1:45pm and stay through the show until the company bow and company photo at the end of the show unless they are a preschooler. Preschoolers may arrive no later than 2:20 on Show Day and may leave with their parent following their performance at the very beginning of the show. Arrival time for K-12th grade students is 1:30-1:50pm.
All doors will remain locked until 1:30pm. Cast meeting backstage is at 2pm FOR ALL (K-12th) STUDENTS AND STAFF. Preschoolers (with a parent) are certainly invited to the cast meeting at 2pm but we do understand the challenge that holds so preschool may arrive at 2:20 if that is a more comfortable option! Curtain opens at 2:30pm. Students remain in their assigned dressing rooms during the show on Saturday, May 18th until the company bow at the conclusion of May Show. PLEASE no greasy food or drinks other than water bottles. We understand a healthy snack and water, but please no meals or items that will spill and stain costumes. Parents that plan to help in dressing rooms text me at 325-721-4884 and let me know. You are WONDERFUL! Assisting your performer and possibly others is fantastic and encouraged! Especially our younger students.

DETAILS FOR FAMILIES & THE AUDIENCE
The house opens at 1:30pm for seating. Curtain opens at 2:30pm. Tickets are electronic. Show proof of purchase barcode on your phone (screenshot or email) at the door. Tickets are available 24/7 and available until intermission of the show on Saturday, May 18th. Tickets are $12 per seat, an online ticket button will be available on this page beginning May 1st. There are no complimentary tickets available. Tickets are a fundraising opportunity for our non-profit. We so appreciate your support!

A professional videographer will record May Show. Pre-paid purchase of $30 per DVD and or Flashdrive is required. DVDs and Flashdrives are available for pick up at APAC during summer camps. Text 325-721-4884 for days and times.

A small flower arrangement to congratulate your performer for a job well done! Pre-ordered/paid flower bundles are $20 each and may be picked up on show day in the carpeted entry area of the convention center’s auditorium.

A sweetly packaged bag of sugar cookies to congratulate your performer for a job well done! Pre-ordered/paid cookie bundles are $15 each and may be picked up on show day in the carpeted entry area of the convention center’s auditorium.
