MAY SHOW CAST

All students enrolled in dance and musical theatre classes at APAC are featured in our annual year-end production held at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 North 6th Street.  

MAY SHOW COSTUMES
April-early May every musical theatre and dance student receives their costume(s) and detailed info about hair, make-up, shoes, tights, name of the piece, instructor contact, etc. Please take care of your investment by waiting until Convention Center rehearsals to wear those costumes. Please label all costume pieces and shoes with student’s name. COSTUMES ARE WORN AT ALL CONVENTION CENTER REHEARSALS!

THURSDAY TECHNICAL REHEARSAL

Schedule
3:55-4:40 Preschool and K-2 classes rehearse WITHOUT costumes and are to arrive by 3:50pm and stay until they are finished rehearsing with their class during that 3:55-4:40pm time.
4:40-9:00 All other students (3rd grade-Adult) arrive
with costumes and dance shoes at least 15 minutes prior to their first rehearsal time. Click button below to view schedule.

Performers Entrance
The entrance for May Show performers is through the backstage door of the Convention Center located on the north side of the building, closest to Pine Street. (You will see Mrs. Lanie’s yellow car parked in the driveway).

Purpose for Tech Rehearsal
Thursday’s Technical Rehearsal is set so that each musical theatre and dance class has time to rehearse their pieces in costume on stage while the crew sets sound and lighting for each piece.

Upon Arrival
Upon arrival as students enter the backstage area, they will see an information table where Mrs. Lanie will be to answer questions and give directions if needed. Students grades 3-12 and Adults find assigned dressing areas to change into and out of costumes following each piece they rehearse. Students may leave once all pieces they are performing in have rehearsed (according to the tech rehearsal schedule).

Dressing Areas
Each age group has their own assigned dressing area, this information is available at the information table in the backstage area. Do not leave costumes or dance shoes in the dressing areas or at the Convention Center overnight. Take everything home each time so that nothing is misplaced or lost. Be sure student’s name is written on EVERYTHING!

FRIDAY DRESS REHEARSAL

Schedule
5:15-6:15 ACT ONE and 6:30-7:30 ACT TWO. Click the button below to view the schedule.

Upon Arrival
Students arrive through the backstage door at least 15 minutes prior to the start time of either ACT ONE, ACT TWO, or both depending on where their class(es) perform in the show order. Go to assigned dressing area and put on costume(s) in the order of the dress rehearsal.

When Can I Leave?
Students may leave dress rehearsal once they have gone through all of their pieces. Students are not required to stay for the entire dress rehearsal. However, on show day STUDENTS STAY THE ENTIRE SHOW including company bows at the end and the company photo.

Parent Volunteers
Parents that plan to help in the dressing areas please text me at 325-721-4884 and let me know. You are WONDERFUL! Assisting your performer and others is fantastic and encouraged! Especially our younger students.

SATURDAY SHOW DAY (May Show is approximately 2.5 hours including intermission)

Schedule (All doors will remain locked until noon)

12:00 Backstage doors unlock.
12:00 K-Adult arrive BACKSTAGE to dressing areas. PLEASE NO FOOD IN DRESSING AREAS. WATER BOTTLES ONLY.
12:30 Cast meeting backstage for all. Preschoolers & parents are welcome too, but 12:50 may be less crazy!
12:50 Preschoolers arrive with their parent and sit in preschool seats located backstage.
1:00 Curtain opens. K-Adult students remain in their assigned dressing rooms during the show (including intermission) until the company bow at the conclusion of May Show.

Preschool Families
Preschoolers are able to leave following their piece. There is no expectation for our preschool performers to stay through the show’s entirety.

Tickets
General admission, seating is not assigned.
Cost per ticket is $12.
Tickets available for purchase beginning May 1.
Tickets are available 24/7 and available until intermission of the show on Saturday, May 17th.
Tickets are a fundraising opportunity for our non-profit. We so appreciate your support!

A professional videographer will record May Show. Pre-paid purchase of $30 per DVD and or Flashdrive is required. DVDs and Flashdrives are available for pick up at APAC during summer camps. Text 325-721-4884 for days and times.

A small flower arrangement to congratulate your performer for a job well done! Pre-ordered/paid flower bundles are $20 each and may be picked up on show day in the carpeted entry area of the convention center’s auditorium.
