All students enrolled in dance and musical theatre classes at APAC are featured in our annual year-end production. May Show is held at the Abilene Convention Center the Saturday following Mother's Day at 2:30 in the afternoon. Since May Show is our biggest fundraiser, tickets are sold and available for purchase beginning in April.
In addition to learning music and choreography for May Show, musical theatre classes begin preparing for a separate performance on the first day of class. The Musical Theatre Showcase features all three classes in a special performance on the final Saturday in October at the Historic Paramount Theater. The showcase is at 2:30 and admission is free.
In the summer APAC offers a 3 week musical production camp for ages 8-18 that culminates into a live stage production. The performance is at the Historic Paramount Theatre at 7:00 in the evening on the final day of camp. Admission is $5 per person.
The Ballet Production class is a specialty class offered for students enrolled in Ballet 2, 3, or 4, providing students the opportunity to perform in a ballet showcase. The students experience and study acting, stage presence, poise, performance, costuming, and staging. The class meets weekly August-January and concludes with the showcase performance on the first Saturday in February at the Historic Paramount Theater. The showcase is at 2:30 in the afternoon and admission is free.
