Although our classes conclude with our annual May Show, the fun continues throughout the summer. Abilene Performing Arts Company offers a variety of summer camps for all ages and ability levels. Attending a summer camp is a great way to make education fun and keep creativity at a productive level.

This camp is a fast paced workout for serious dancers who want to strengthen their technique and build endurance over the summer. Each two hour session begins with one hour of ballet, followed by an intensive exploration into specific styles of dance including Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, and Tap. Attire is modest dance clothing and appropriate footwear for each style of dance. Appropriate hair style is a bun or ponytail. Completed 6th-12th grade. $160

Hip hop camp is a theme-based week of fun and learning. Each day young dancers enjoy crafts and games while learning to move isolated body parts independently of one another. Campers learn a short routine to perform in a special showcase on the final day of camp. Attire is loose-fitting clothing and sneakers. No flip flops or sandals. Intro Camp is completed Kindergarten - 2nd grade. $100

Swing, sway, dance, and play with fun, summery themes. In our short summer camp classes we will give children a summer’s worth of music, stories, and activities created to inspire passions for learning and love for music. Parents attend with children. Ages 18 months - 3 years. $100

Children enjoy drama during a busy and fun week of reading, learning, memorizing, staging, preparing, and performing a miniature production. Campers learn respect, team-work, discipline, vocal techniques, and characterization skills. Activities are based on characters, storylines, and songs. Camp culminates in a showcase on the final day at 3:30. Attire is loose-fitting clothing and sneakers. No flip flops or sandals. Completed Kindergarten - 2nd grade. $175

A camp for all aspiring performers ages 8-18! Join us for three weeks as we produce a full theatrical production. The first two weeks include casting, rehearsing, choreographing, and staging the musical at APAC. The third week includes the final staging and a dress rehearsal at the Historic Paramount Theater. Prior experience is not required to participate. Campers are all cast in the production and receive one complimentary show ticket. Bring a sack lunch and water bottle each day. Attire is loose-fitting clothing and sneakers. No flip flops or sandals. Completed 3rd - 12th grade. (Ages 8-18) $375 (15% discount for siblings)

A time of exploration, this camp keeps preschoolers moving with music, art, free-play, and drama. Children laugh and learn through specialized age appropriate experiences. Campers enjoy snacks and crafts while completing portfolios of created materials to take home at the conclusion of the camp. Attire includes loose-fitting clothing and sneakers. Ages 3-5 years. $125

Discovery, expression, characters, story telling and creativity brought to life through a well known piece of literature. Students will take the story from page to stage in this fun filled one week theatre camp for ages K-2nd grade. Attire includes loose-fitting clothing and sneakers. $100
June 17-21; 9:00-10:30am
In this camp your child will develop a short play using Outer Space as a theme! They will work together to create characters, conflicts, and resolutions. Then they will perform what they’ve originated on the final day of camp. 3rd-5th Grade. $100
